Geranium

Pelargonium x asperum

I want to specifically charter the sails for this discussion of Geranium towards the Essential Oil side of the sea.

Geranium plays a valuable role in cellular regeneration, elasticity reinforcement, and tones the nervous system. Geranium is tender to the cardiovascular system, and improves the nervous system with continual use. In fact, in skin care this is a strong tonic excellent for long exposure and slowing down the breakdown of collagen… and then regenerating it. Can I please take a bath in Geranium essential oil?

Geranium is not a member of the Rosaceae (Rose) family, which is known for its prominence in skin care, but is like the adopted best friend that the parents love like their own. Deriving from the Geraniaceae family, Geranium contains strong astringent properties to tone, strengthen and tighten cells. We can easily identify Geranium flowers because of their gentle, and smooth fan-like pedals in arrangements of 5, often with strong veins running from the center. We often confuse Geranium as a part of the Rose family because of their physical similarities, hense the common name Geranium Rose.

Geranium is safe to use daily as an additional to our daily cosmetic regime, and subtly lifting skin tone by gently increasing circulation beneath the skin; we have an immediate reaction to Geranium which is what makes it powerful, useful, and specifically aiding.

Furthermore, Geranium essential oil has the power of lowering blood pressure by 3 points simply by inhaling it. The fiercely sweet, but pungent rose scent provides mental clarity and tones the cardiovascular system.

I am a fan favorite of Geranium Rose essential oil and have featured it in my favored skin care serum “Circe”, which is age-forgiving, cell regenerating, and sensitive to discoloration.

Find Geranium in Sage and Aqua’s Circe face serum.
